“The tours were great! Informative, flexible, energetic and laid back!” - KATE
“We kicked off our Shanghai experience with the Edible tour and we were not disappointed.
I had failed to tell my husband that our “tour” was a personal tour, not one of those big bus tours with a 100 people so he was very happily surprised. Nancy was a wealth of information and very easy-going too. No stress, no pressure, and lots of eating! She also stayed during our cooking class with Chef Huang which was incredibly fun, not to mention tasty! His xiao long bao are far more beautiful than Din Tai Fung’s! It will take us years to perfect, but at least we have a solid starting point.
We would definitely recommend this tour to anyone going to Shanghai. We packed in a lot during the 9 hours, and Nancy left us with even more information for our remaining few days. There wasn’t a single bad moment to be had, although the heat turned down a little would’ve been nice. Not quite in your power though! Thanks again!” - SHIRLEY & BOB
“My boyfriend and I had a terrific time with Nancy as our tour guide, it was really one of the highlights of our trip. She arrived right on time and was very friendly. The choice of restaurants was great… I will definitely tell everyone I know if they are traveling to China that they should do Edible Adventures.” - JESSICA
“We all enjoyed our time with Edible Adventures. We had a great guide and I would recommend you company without hesitation.” – PATTI
“Just wanted to let you know that I loved both trips, great food, great fun! Ian was fantastic, very considerate, understanding and accommodating. The tours were exactly what I was looking for and surpassed my expectations. Thank you so much.” - ELISSA
“We had a fantastic time and ate our brains out….our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable and showed us spots we would have never ventured into!” - GEORGE
“[You] were perfect. My goal was to see the real food o
f Shanghai—in other words what the people eat. Street food was on the menu, and there was plenty of it. …” - JILL

“Home now, and we are still talking about our Dim Sum tour with Amanda. She was great, walk was perfect, food was fabulous. It was our friend’s birthday and he loved the day. I loved starting in the park and learning more about Chinese life. Also loved the insider perspective about the best Dim Sum in Shanghai. She also tipped us off to a Tea tasting – where we experienced another authentic journey about tea preparation and gustatory and culinary splendor.… you must be first on the agenda to tour the town and taste great Dim Sum.” - ADISA
“It was amazing. The highlight of my trip.” - RICHARD
“Just a quick note to say that the time spent with you in Shanghai was Truly a highlight of my week long visit to Shanghai. Luxuriating in the over-sized bathtub at the St. Regis was a distant second.
Truth is my husband had been eating banquet style meals with 25 co-workers, 20 dishes a sitting for two nights and he was burned out on Chinese food. It was just the sort of cutting experience that we needed to wake us up.
My time with Jamie was so informative, fun and tasty; just the right combination of knowledge, enthusiasm and interest in people to be an excellent guide. I really appreciate that she took my requests into consideration when she planned our half day together. I’m glad that she suggested choices at each restaurant and was thrilled to eat at places I would not have felt comfortable going to myself. Not only was Jamie great company during the tour but she followed up one of our conversations with an email of suggested restaurants and dishes for the one dinner my husband and I would have together, she made the reservation for us and sent me back the address in Chinese that I could show to the taxi driver!
I worked in group travel for 20 years. I’ve led museum and university alumni groups of mature adults on educational tours to many corners of the world and I’ve worked with lots of local guides. Edible Shanghai offers a quality experience! Thanks again for sharing your knowledge and insight, not to mention some delicious food. I’m already missing the Nanjing dumplings! Xie Xie” - LAUREN
“Thank you for your kind words, it was a pleasure for me too, and also for having spent your birthday with me and for giving me the opportunity to learn so much about the Chinese culinary culture.
I also want to thank you for all the great tips you gave to me to get to know the city so much better and to congratulate you and your team for this extraordinary idea of the culinary tours. I will recommend you as much as I can and hope to see you in the near future.” - SANDRA
“We had a great time thank you! Jamie was very personable, knowledgeable, and good fun, thank you very much; we definitely enjoyed our tour….cheers.” - SUE
“Thank you for taking me through the streets of the city and showing me that I CAN eat so many of the things that I was curious about and wanted to sample. The food was remarkably tasty, and gave me the courage to try more! You enriched my trip to China immensely! I am telling everyone about my experience!” - KAREN
“My day with Ian in Hangzhou was great fun and educational…especially his explanation of the tea making process and information on some of the Chinese medicinal herbs we encountered while hiking.” - ROBIN
